Part of the fun of Amateur radio is the collection of QSL cards that soon builds up.

A QSL card is basically a confirmation of a radio contact which is sent by either, or both stations.

At its most basic level a QSL card should contain details of the stations involved, time, frequency, and mode of operation, as well as a signal report. However they have become more colorful and now convey some of the characters or interests of the radio operators involved. They also can give extra details of the countries involved, or special events commemorate. As such they have become prized and collectable in their own right.

The value of QSL cards in technical terms has probably dropped, but they add another dimension to the hobby.

Modern QSL cards can now be sent via electronic means, via E-mail, or dedicated sites such as E-QSL which saves on time, money, and reduces the heavy workloads that QSL bureau are under, and should be encouraged whenever possible.

Below is a selection of the more interesting cards that I have received. Some have specific meaning (First country, mode etc.) others just look nice!
